Accessible Icon Project

Hey everyone, Amanda here... I just spent a week out West and wanted to give a shout out to Arizona especially Phoenix for using the “active” icon for accessibility! Since 1968 the International Symbol of Access has been used to mark accessible areas and parking locations, however fails to accurately represent the energy and independence of the disability population. We would really love to see more cities and communities adopt the accessible icon project. Even the parking placards hanging from rear view mirrors showed the active symbol... Time to step it up Orlando! To learn more about the Accessible Icon Project please visit http://accessibleicon.org/
