Effective Date: August 29, 2026
Welcome to the website and online fundraising platforms of NextStep Raleigh. By using our website, making a donation, registering for an event, purchasing a ticket, participating in an auction, or otherwise engaging with NextStep Raleigh through an online platform, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.
1. About NextStep Raleigh
NextStep Raleigh is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing community-based recovery, fitness, and wellness opportunities for individuals living with paralysis and other neurological conditions.
These Terms and Conditions apply to transactions and activities conducted through the NextStep Raleigh website and third-party fundraising or payment platforms used on our behalf.
2. Donations
All donations to NextStep Raleigh are voluntary and support our charitable mission, programs, operations, equipment, and other organizational needs unless a specific restricted purpose is stated at the time of the donation.
Donations are generally non-refundable. If you believe a donation was made in error, please contact NextStep Raleigh promptly. Refund requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Donors are responsible for providing accurate payment and contact information.
NextStep Raleigh is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization. Donations may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Donors should consult their tax advisor regarding their individual circumstances.
3. Event Registrations and Tickets
Registration fees and ticket purchases for NextStep Raleigh events are generally non-refundable unless otherwise stated for a particular event.
If an event is postponed, rescheduled, relocated, or modified due to circumstances beyond our control, NextStep Raleigh will make reasonable efforts to communicate changes to registered participants.
If an event is cancelled by NextStep Raleigh, the organization may offer a refund, credit, or the opportunity to convert the payment into a charitable donation, depending on the circumstances.
Event tickets and registrations may not be resold for commercial purposes without prior authorization from NextStep Raleigh.
4. Sponsorships
Event and program sponsorships are considered commitments to support NextStep Raleigh and may include benefits such as tickets, recognition, advertising, hospitality, or other benefits described in the applicable sponsorship materials.
Because sponsorship commitments may result in expenses and obligations being incurred by NextStep Raleigh, sponsorship payments are generally non-refundable.
The tax-deductible portion of a sponsorship may be reduced by the value of goods or services received. Sponsors should consult their tax advisor regarding deductibility.
5. Auctions
Participation in any live, silent, online, or mobile auction conducted by NextStep Raleigh constitutes agreement to the applicable auction rules.
All bids are considered binding once submitted.
The highest qualifying bidder at the close of an auction is responsible for payment of the winning bid unless otherwise determined by NextStep Raleigh.
Auction items are provided "as is" unless otherwise stated. Restrictions, expiration dates, availability, blackout dates, transferability, and other conditions imposed by donors or providers remain the responsibility of the winning bidder to review and follow.
Unless otherwise stated, auction purchases are final and non-refundable.
NextStep Raleigh reserves the right to resolve bidding disputes, withdraw an item, extend or modify bidding, or correct errors when reasonably necessary to ensure a fair auction process.
6. Goods and Services Received
Certain payments to NextStep Raleigh, including event tickets, sponsorships, auction purchases, and other transactions, may include goods or services provided in return for payment.
Only the portion of a payment that exceeds the fair market value of goods or services received may qualify as a charitable contribution under applicable law.
NextStep Raleigh may provide acknowledgment or tax information when appropriate. Individuals and businesses remain responsible for determining the tax treatment of their payments.
7. Payment Processing
NextStep Raleigh may use third-party platforms and payment processors, including OneCause, to process donations, registrations, sponsorships, auction purchases, and other transactions.
By submitting payment information, you authorize the applicable payment processor to charge the payment method you provide.
NextStep Raleigh is not responsible for interruptions, technical issues, security practices, or other matters arising solely from services operated by third-party providers. Your use of those services may also be subject to the provider's own terms and privacy policies.
8. Recurring Donations
If you establish a recurring donation, you authorize charges according to the frequency and amount selected at the time of enrollment.
You may request that a recurring donation be changed or cancelled by contacting NextStep Raleigh. Cancellation requests should be made before the next scheduled payment whenever possible.
