We are proud to offer ONWARD ARC-EX, a non-invasive spinal cord stimulation system designed for individuals living with spinal cord injury (SCI).

The ARC-EX® System is clinically indicated to help improve hand strength and sensation in individuals with chronic neurological injury.

Integrated into activity-based therapy sessions, this technology supports functional movement while practicing real-world tasks—helping drive meaningful, everyday progress.

How It Works
The ARC-EX® System delivers targeted electrical stimulation to the cervical spinal cord through electrodes placed on the back of the neck. These gentle pulses help activate neural pathways that may not function effectively on their own.

Using advanced programming, our clinicians tailor each session to the individual, aligning stimulation with specific movements and goals. Backed by clinical research, ARC-EX® Therapy is designed to support neuroplasticity, enhance motor function, and maximize recovery potential.

At NextStep Raleigh, ARC-EX® is not a standalone treatment, it’s part of a comprehensive, activity-based approach tailored to each member.

The NextStep Raleigh ARC-EX program runs in 8-week cycles.

The protocol consists of a minimum of two (2) 60-minute sessions a week.
